On March 31, 2021, Seven Generations Architecture + Engineering hosted a virtual screening of their short film Sacred Justice. This film takes an insightful look at the importance of the Tribal peacemaking process and the creation of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Court and Peacemaking Center. Following the screening, architects J. Scott Winchester and Steve VandenBussche joined for a virtual Q&A session.
Turnout for this event was impressive, and we are so glad that attendees from across North America were able to join us and learn more about peacemaking and how the built environment can impact Native justice. If you were not able to attend, don’t worry! You can watch the entire virtual screening online, complete with the Q&A. View Sacred Justice here: https://vimeo.com/536953867.
Key to the creation of the film were Chief Judge Michael Petoskey, Pokagon Court Administrator Stephen Rambeaux, and our own J. Scott Winchester, 7GAE architect and Tribal liaison. We thank them for participating in this film and offering their experience and insight into Tribal justice.
To supplement the screening of Sacred Justice, we invite you to learn more about the topics we discuss in the film.
