The new Seven Generations A+E office space reflects our innovative approach infused with our culture as a tribally-owned firm.

7GAE’s new 5,000 square foot office space is designed to designate separate working environments while maintaining an open-office feel. The focus rooms, collaboration area, video conference room and the interior design library are all available for daily use.

Interior finish selections are inspired by 7GAE’s branding, with individual pieces of the feather logo within the floor patterns, and color schemes following the traits of 7GAE’s blues and greens. Custom features of the office include the Hive, wood trimmed bulkhead, pipe shelves, and digitally printed wall covering and window film.

The space features independent working, collaboration, conference, and library environments while maintaining an open office feel. The “Hive,” an open, cylindrical structure in the lobby library, is the crowning feature.

Built with a 3D modeling and ‘kit’ construction approach, the Hive provides an intimate area for group collaboration. Interior finish selections are inspired by 7GAE branding with elements of the feather logo within the floor patterns and color schemes following the 7GAE pallet of blues and greens. Custom features also include wood-trimmed bulkheads, pipe shelves and digitally-printed wall coverings and window films.

7GAE’s office is one of several located within The Foundry, Kalamazoo’s first Living Office workspace, which, through innovative and unique design, delivers an optimum work experience for people.

The Foundry and its History

Founded in 1872, The Foundry was once home to the Kalamazoo Foundry & Machine Company. The $10 million redevelopment project involved:

  • Interior demolition of a two-level, 6,000 square-foot brick building dating back to 1907 which was converted to a restaurant and bar
  • Interior demolition and reinvigoration of an attached 47,000 square-foot, one-level former warehouse dating back to the 1950s
  • Bulldozing 30,000 square feet at the rear of the former warehouse building
  • Significant investment in environmental activities associated with brownfield redevelopment

With exposed girders, clerestory windows, artful meeting and breakout areas, The Foundry office environment introduces fresh air, sunlight and encourages a sense of camaraderie and cooperation.
