As part of a Nationwide IDIQ contract with the National Park Service, WBK Engineering provided civil and structural engineering services for repair and replacement of the West Overlook at Pea Ridge Military Park.

The overlook consists of a parking lot with concrete overlook and natural stone retaining wall surrounding the overlook. Due to lack of maintenance and structural instability of the existing wall, replacement of a portion of the wall and maintenance of the wall was required. Also in disrepair was the curb and gutter in the parking lot, drainage infrastructure, and cracking and heaving of the overlook concrete sidewalk.

To address the maintenance issues, WBK provided design services for Design Development and Construction Development, including design plans, specifications, and Level B and A cost estimates. The deliverables conformed to the Denver Service Center’s Design-Bid-Build requirements and standards. Improvements included new drainage infrastructure, pavement, concrete, retaining wall repair, and other site improvements. WBK was subconsultant to Seven Generations A+E under the IDIQ.
